New Construction Picture Windows

New Construction Picture Windows

Picture units are stationary windows, which have no opening points, and allow for  a showcasing of the view and often times come as huge centerpieces to mull units. These windows can come in much larger sizes than windows that those that open for ventilation.

Because picture windows don’t open, they are great for energy saving due to less space for air infiltration, but also add to the beauty of your home by bringing the outside in and showcasing a picture perfect view.

Picture Windows are available with choice of Jamb, Grid, and Accessories. A standard New Construction Picture Unit includes 3 1/4″ Frame, Glazing, Nail Fin and J-Channel.

How to Calculate Rough Openings for New Construction:
Take Unit Dimensions and add 1″ to the width and 1/2″ to the height.
Example: On a DG2424, the dimensions are 29 5/8 x 56 1/2.
29 5/8 + 1 = 30 5/8 Rough Opening Width
56 1/2 + 1/2 = 57 Rough Opening Height
